TGIF: David Beckham, the US Swim Team, and I Need Your Help

Some lovely video action to celebrate the beginning of the weekend. Not my weekend, mind you – I’ll be on Red Sox-Yankees duty (!!!) tonight-Sunday – but I’m going to pretend it is by making eggs for breakfast on Sunday and sleeping way later than I should be.

First, David Beckham making people very emotional. I repeat: DAVID BECKHAM MAKING PEOPLE VERY EMOTIONAL.

Second, the incredibly attractive and magnificently silly US Swim Team gets in on the “Call Me Maybe” meme. I promise, this is not at all annoying or dumb. Unless you find sexy people dancing annoying or dumb, in which case, you probably shouldn’t watch.

Third, my personal favorite…and it’s not sports related. Antoine Dodson, of “Hide Ya Kids, Hide Ya Wife” fame, is weighing on the Chick-Fil-A CEO weighing in on gay marriage. It’s just as hilarious as it sounds, and he actually has a point, kind of. Just watch and you’ll see what I mean.

Fourth…I need some help from you guys. I have a short list of things I want to do here with the blog, that I’ve been putting off, and I would love to hear what you think.

1) An email list…I’ve been waiting to do this because I’m not sure I have enough readers that would get something out of it. I feel like an email newsletter is something I would love, to personally connect with some of you, but I feel like I have to build more of an audience first. Would you subscribe? What would you want it to be…recaps of games, stuff you don’t see here on the blog, personal updates, a combination of these? Other bloggers…what’s a good email newsletter system you use?

2) A logo…I have an image in my head of what I think it could look like. It’s just a matter of being able to afford a logo, or even a full redesign. Would a logo make the site cooler? I think it would. If any of you are designers, or know of one that could help me out, I’d love some recommendations.

3) I love lists, especially the popular List of 100 concept. If I did a List of 100 about, say, the upcoming NFL season, would that be something you’d read? What about other sports? It wouldn’t be boring and would definitely be sassy.
